The edition

Water and sun converge in A Solar Year, an edition following A Lunar Year presented at Keijiban in 2025. These glass disks superimpose the two elements within a material where transparency and flow come into play. The sun—this seemingly immutable star—reveals here its active nature, itself subject to variation.

The artist

Oscar Tuazon was born in 1975 in Seattle, Washington (USA). He currently lives in Los Angeles.

Oscar Tuazon’s practice draws on both sculpture and architecture. Using the vocabulary and tradition of the former and the materials and processes of the latter, the artist creates objects, installations, and structures that can be contemplated as well as experienced. Often made at a large scale, these works question the site where they are installed, be it a museum or gallery, the public space or the natural environment. They reshape our conceptions of construction methods, of how architectural and sculptural forms fit into the natural and built environment, and, more broadly, of the way we move through or occupy places.

His work is represented by Galerie Chantal Crousel (Paris), dependance (Brussels), Galerie Eva Presenhuber (Zurich, Vienna), Luhring Augustine Gallery (New York), Maureen Paley (London), Morán Morán (Los Angeles), and STANDARD (Oslo).

The exhibition

Oscar Tuazon's exhibition will take place at Yonkai from March 28 to May 10, 2026.
