Ulla von Brandenburg

Ulla von Brandenburg was born in 1974 in Karlsruhe, and has been based in Paris since 2005.

Ulla von Brandenburg’s work is characterized by a diversity of media (installations, films, watercolors, murals, collages, and performances) that respond to each other and which she stages according to the exhibition site. Fully versed in the codes of scenography, and nourished by literature, art history and architecture as well as psychoanalysis, spiritualism and magic, she borrows from esoteric rituals and popular ceremonies as well as from the mechanisms and codes of theater to explore the formation of our social structures.

Ulla von Brandenburg is represented by Galerie Art: Concept (Paris), Pilar Corrias (London), Produzentengalerie (Hamburg), and Meyer Riegger (Berlin, Karlsruhe, Basel)
